After months spent indoors, we’re all antsy to go play outside! With summer temperatures averaging in the mid-70s and nearly 12,000 acres of open space, Conejo Valley makes a perfect, and very safe, playground.

Ready to explore? Here are a few ways you can enjoy being outside in Conejo Valley.

Take a Hike

In Conejo Valley, you can always count on a grand view. Whether you’re a fan of ocean sights or spotting wildlife, there are 140 miles of trails with options for every preference and ability.

Malibu Wine Hikes is another fun way to explore our nearby wide-open spaces. On this 2-mile loop, a trusty guide will take you on a nature walk through Saddlerock Ranch where you can spot exotic resident animals, including Stanley the giraffe! Your wine to-go reward awaits at the end of the trail as well!

Powered Pedals

If your feet get tired after hours of hiking, switch to electric power. Rent a bike and cycle through the Santa Monica Mountains’ canyons to the ocean with ease.

Horseback Rides

Another way to explore Conejo Valley’s breathtaking views of rolling hills and lush greenery is by horseback. Malibu Riders offer guided rides where you can enjoy amazing scenery and bond with majestic horses.

Tee Up

If your idea of a day well-spent outside is golfing away, you’ve also come to the right place! Thanks to a temperate climate, rolling hills and plenty of open space, Conejo Valley is a golfer’s paradise offering several private country clubs and public golf courses.

Moorpark Country Club is recognized as having one of the most pleasing course layouts in America.

Los Robles Greens is known for the giant oak trees that line its fairways and guard many of its undulating greens.

Tierra Rejada Golf Club is all about giving visitors an outstanding golf experience in a beautiful setting. The par-72 championship golf course is perfect for all players and skill levels.

Botanical Bliss

Another hidden gem of the area is the 33-acre Conejo Valley Botanic Garden encircled by the City of Thousand Oaks. From the sweeping vistas at the peak of the garden through 15 breathtaking, hillside specialty gardens, and onto the hiking trail along the riparian stream, the Conejo Valley Botanic Garden is an experience you don’t want to miss!

Toes in the Sand

For close-up ocean views, venture out to Zuma Beach in nearby Malibu. One of the largest beaches in Los Angeles County, Zuma is known for its long, wide sand beaches and excellent surf. Additionally, it consistently ranks among the healthiest beaches for clean water conditions in the county.
