Event Overview

The City of Thousand Oaks will bring their annual Pop-Up Arts & Music Festival to Thousand Oaks every Friday and Saturday in the month of June.

The festival features “pop-up” public performances at various locations throughout Thousand Oaks. The goal of the festival is to provide residents with an opportunity to actively participate in and enjoy the arts without having to come to the theatre. People are encouraged to bring their own chair/blanket, food and drink and come enjoy great entertainment on a summer evening.

The festival will feature eight free events over four weekends from June 3-25, 2022. In partnership with local arts organizations, the festival will include local and regional artistic talent, in addition to nationally recognized performing artists.

Join Thousand Oaks for an evening of famous arias with internationally renowned baritone Valdis Jansons and LA Opera soprano Alaysha Fox accompanied by the members of the New West Symphony.

Brynn Albanese is a multi-genre violinist from the Central Coast.  With a mix of European Gypsy, Latin jazz, Tangos, Classical with a twist, Opera covers and, of course, Celtic…she has created a lively and engaging show.

The Furious Seasons are an acoustic trio that chronicles the life of 21st century Los Angeles. Acclaimed songwriter, singer, and guitarist David Steinhart fashions songs that live on the hopeful side of melancholy.

Considered one of the most unique and influential guitarists of our time, Kaki King continues to redefine the role of solo instrumental artist. Her multi-media performance uses projection mapping to present the guitar as a tool that can shape both music and video content, all triggered (and often improvised) by her Ovation Adamas Signature 6-string acoustic guitar.

Los Angeles noir-pop quartet the Leftover Cuties have a sound that is both retro and refreshing. They craft songs imbued with jazzy sophistication and a palm trees-swaying West Coast breeziness. Ukuleles, accordion, jaunty horns, and the round resonant sounds of upright bass combine with chanteuse Shirli McAllen’s commanding yet silky sultry intones.

Kick off the summer with songs from classic California artists like The Beach Boys, The Eagles, Joni Mitchell, and the Mamas and Papas as well as musicals and movies featuring California like Rock of Ages, Lala Land and many more!

Alehouse Fire’s Celtic music takes you back to the pubs of Ireland, where everyone is your friend and you’re singing along to songs you don’t even know.  The evening will feature a wide range of traditional and modern Celtic tunes.

Screening of the Disney movie Brave begins at 8:00pm.

Mostly Kosher, the acclaimed klezmer gypsy-rock band, radically reconstructs Judaic and American cultural music through ravenous klezmer beats and arresting Yiddish refrains. Their concerts explode with a mix of jazz, Latin, rock, and folk.

“Mexico Lindo" is a glorious musical journey where skilled musicians and virtuoso dancers express the joy of Mexico’s rich musical traditions. A journey of sounds, colors, and dances from some of the most wonderful regions of the area.
