Dorrance Dance Brings Award-Winning Tap to Thousand Oaks

Experience a fresh take on American tap as Dorrance Dance takes the stage at the Fred Kavli Theatre on October 24 at 8 p.m. Founded by MacArthur “Genius” award-winning choreographer and tap dancer Michelle Dorrance, the New York-based company is known for honoring tap’s rich history while bringing the art form into contemporary culture.

The performance features dancers Elizabeth Burke and Luke Hickey in A Swing Suite/SOUNDspace/REDUX, showcasing the rhythm, musicality, and physicality at the heart of the company’s work. Dorrance Dance blends tradition with theatricality and humor, creating an energetic approach to one of America’s original dance forms.

Presented by TOArts at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center, the evening offers Conejo Valley audiences an opportunity to experience one of today’s acclaimed tap companies live in Thousand Oaks.
