CelloGayageum Blends Korean and Western Musical Traditions in Thousand Oaks

Experience a unique meeting of musical cultures as CelloGayageum performs a free concert at the Grant R. Brimhall Library on October 28 at 7 p.m. The duo brings together the depth of Western classical music with the sounds of Korean gugak, creating a musical journey across cultures and traditions.

Founded by Austrian cellist Sol Daniel Kim and Korean gayageum virtuoso Dayoung Yoon, CelloGayageum performs original compositions inspired by Korean folk melodies and shaped by global influences. The combination of cello and gayageum creates a distinctive sound that bridges Eastern and Western musical traditions.

Presented by TOArts and the City of Thousand Oaks Cultural and Community Services Department, the concert is free to attend, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.
