BARK Rangers Celebrates Responsible Dog Ownership in the Santa Monica Mountains
Celebrate Responsible Dog Ownership Month with your four-legged friend at BARK Rangers, a free outdoor event at Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa on September 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. The event invites pet owners to explore the Santa Monica Mountains while learning how to safely and responsibly enjoy the trails with their dogs.
Ranger-led informational booths will be spread throughout the first half-mile of the Satwiwa Loop Trail, sharing tips for keeping pets safe while exploring the outdoors. Dogs and their owners can also complete special challenges to earn an exclusive Santa Monica Mountains NRA BARK Ranger badge and participate in a swearing-in ceremony.
The event is free, with advance RSVPs available through Eventbrite. All pets must remain on a leash no longer than six feet, and visitors planning to continue hiking should return to the trailhead before noon for the BARK Ranger ceremony.
