New Years Resolutions. They’re easy to make and, unfortunately, just as easy to break. No matter how determined we are to keep them, somehow, by the end of January, our resolve seems to weaken and, before we know it, those well-intentioned goals become a distant memory.
We have the perfect remedy: we’ve compiled a list of simple and fun things you can do in the Conejo Valley to make those resolutions easier to keep than ever before.
New Year’s Resolution #1: Get in shape
Hiking is one of the best ways to shed some pounds and tone your body. Conejo Valley has numerous trails. Some lead you to waterfalls and even spectacular ocean views, like Mugu Peak, shown above. Use our online tool to plan your next hike. You can customize everything from location and difficulty to distance and elevation. Sure beats going to the gym!
New Year’s Resolution #2: Learn a new skill
Maybe your new year’s resolution is to expand your horizons by challenging yourself to learn a new skill. Whether it’s to become a sommelier, golfer or dancer, you can start your quest in Conejo Valley.
Head to Giessinger Winery in Westlake Village to learn the art of French winemaking. Some of the wines there are produced from 60-year old dry farming vines in Monterey. The tasting room is open daily from 2 – 7pm.
Learn to golf at a public course in the Conejo Valley. Los Robles Greens Golf Course in Thousand Oaks offers instructional programs for players of all skill levels.
New Year’s Resolution #3: Travel more
Traveling doesn’t always have to be expensive. In fact, you can explore new sites that are just a short car ride away. The Getty Villa in Malibu or the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley make great day trips.
There are lots of easy and fun ways to keep your new year’s resolutions in Conejo Valley. You can even book a stay and see all of the sites in one weekend if you are ambitious!
