Thousand Oaks Summer Concerts in the Park: Kenny Metcalf as Elton – The Early Years

May 29, 2023 View Website

The Conejo Recreation & Park District is excited to announce the 2023 Summer Concerts in the Park Series line up, a favorite summer tradition that has been enjoyed by the community for over four decades. Kicking off the series on Memorial Day, Monday May 29, is Kenny Metcalf as Elton – The Early Years, an accomplished musician and vocalist who recreates the Grammy-winning legend in every performance. Dazzling outfits, stunning vocals, and a spectacular backing band complete a reproduction that brings the audience on an adventure of both sight and sound. The Memorial Day concert, sponsored by the City of Thousand Oaks, will begin with a moving performance of “Taps” by Jonathan Dane and the singing of the National Anthem by Marissa Margolis. Chef Rock Rolls food truck, Hot Diggity Dog, and Mister Softee ice cream truck will be on site.

The Summer Concerts in the Park Series is held from 5:00-7:00pm at CRPD’s Conejo Community Park (aka Dover & Hendrix), located at 1175 Hendrix Avenue in Thousand Oaks. Friends and families are invited to bring picnics and blankets or folding chairs for lawn seating in Conejo Community Park’s beautiful natural amphitheater. Depending on the forecast, jackets or sweaters are recommended since the weather may cool during the latter part of the event. Outside food and beverage is permitted. Limited on-site parking is reserved for cars displaying disabled person placards until the lot is full. Off-site parking is available for all others. Concertgoers are asked to leave pets at home.
