TOArts Trailblazers: Jodi Cobb

March 01, 2024 View Website

This year TOArts has partnered with Changemaker Talent to present a dynamic group of speakers in the 2023-24 season of its annual National Geographic series, now called TOArts Trailblazers. This exciting 4-part series will include a remarkable lineup of renowned trailblazers who have pushed the boundaries in their respective fields and whose work reveals fascinating insights about our planet.

TOArts Trailblazers will be an annual series featuring a broad range of talents, including renowned photographers, scientists, filmmakers and adventurers sharing their behind-the-scenes stories from the front lines of exploration alongside stunning imagery and gripping footage.

Jodi Cobb shattered the glass ceiling as the first—and only—female staff photographer at National Geographic, blazing a trail for future generations of female photojournalists. Her powerful imagery gave the world unprecedented access to hidden societies, from the elusive Geisha community in Japan to the veiled worlds of Arab women. For a groundbreaking story called “21st Century Slavery,” Jodi went underground for 13 months to expose the global issue of human trafficking and slave labor, earning more reader accolades than any other story in National Geographic history.

All events will take place at 8:00 PM at the Kavli Theatre, at The Bank of American Performing Arts Center and will feature gorgeous photography and exciting video footage, along with a rich storytelling. Following each presentation, there will be a Q&A session, and an audience meet & greet, providing attendees with the opportunity to engage directly with the visiting speakers.

Subscriptions are available now are priced at a 25% discount off single tickets. $164 for all four shows. Tickets available at www.bapacthousandoaks/trailblazers or by calling 805 449-2787.
