Summer Concerts in the Park: Angel City Dixieland Band

Join us for some energizing, toe-tapping fun! One of Los Angeles’s longest-running New Orleans-type bands, the ANGEL CITY DIXIELAND BAND performs all the songs from the city people call “The Big Easy.” Formed by trumpeter Chris Tedesco 33 years ago in 1987, the band soon became in demand at Disneyland as well as other Southern California theme parks and can be found performing all the way from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Yearly, they are the LA Dodgers’ Dixieland band of choice for opening day and whenever the team is in the World Series.  The Angel City Dixieland Band performs all of the most memorable, upbeat Dixieland tunes such as “ When Saints Go Marching In,” “Sweet Georgia Brown,” “Hello Dolly,” and many other tunes made famous by trumpeter/vocalist Louis Armstrong, The Firehouse Five, trumpeter Al Hirt, and clarinetist Pete Fountain.   In true patriotic style, the show begins with “Star-Spangled Banner” and concludes with the traditional Conejo Stars & Stripes Parade! Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and picnics, then sit back and relax to the sounds of summer! Jackets or sweaters are recommended as the weather often cools during the latter part of the event. Concert-goers are asked to leave pets at home.

Following newly released guidance from the California Department of Public Health and the County of Ventura for outdoor live events, attendance will be limited, and advanced ticket purchase is required for entry. Tickets are $20 and will be available for purchase at conejorpd.eventbrite.com. Tickets for the Memorial Day concert will go on sale Monday, May 3 at 9:00am.  Ticket sales for each additional show are expected to go on sale approximately 4 weeks prior to the concert date. Each ticket will be for a physically distanced, assigned viewing area that allows for up to a maximum of 4 guests.
