Amgen Pros Will Be Rolling Through Conejo

Some of the world’s top cyclists will face off once again this May during the exhilarating Amgen Tour of California. This Tour de France style race is America’s most prestigious cycling event, and the world-class athletes will return to Conejo Valley during the 11th annual eight-stage race across the state!

Conejo will be the starting point for the critical Queen Stage of the race from Thousand Oaks to the Gibraltar Road Summit in Santa Barbara. Biotechnology company Amgen – the title sponsor of the esteemed race – calls Thousand Oaks home, so it is only natural that the internationally acclaimed race will roll through town.

But it’s not just the professional athletes who have the opportunity to ride Stage 3 of the Amgen Tour; fans and bicycle enthusiasts can ride the very same route as Olympic hopefuls three weeks before the pros burn rubber. Fans can sign up for L’Etape California 2016 and experience a first-time climb up the recently resurfaced Gibraltar Road to soak in 180 degree views of Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean.

If you don’t feel like fighting the crowds, you can go online to purchase VIP hospitality tickets for the event. These tickets include a premium location, full food and drinks, lounge style seating and live race coverage. Show up nice and early to get the prime seats and the full experience before the racers take off.
